a case of the mondays

you know how i know it's monday?
- before 8:00am, i spilled my chai latte all over my desk/purse/drawers... and screamed "shit!" .... all while on the phone with a co-worker. (i'm very professional)
- i walked into the restroom and started un-buttoning my shirt, instead of my pants...

red, white, & blue

yes, i realize memorial day was 2 1/2 weeks ago, but i've been busier than ever and i'm just now getting around to uploading photos. this memorial day, josh & i didn't make any plans. since it was raining outside (of course), we were just going to have a little indoor picnic in our cabin. we went to the grocery store down the street to pick up some food when we spotted a friend who invited us over for a bbq. despite the rain, we ended up having a fantastic time (and some killer food). this was my first memorial day not spent by a pool or lake and in 90-degree weather. spring in the northwest is unpredicatable, and i'm learning to adjust & adapt.
hope you had a happy memorial day, too!

"She laughed when there was no joke. She danced when there was no music. She had no friends, yet she was the friendliest person in school. In her answers in class, she often spoke of sea horses and stars, but she did not know what a football was… She was elusive. She was today. She was tomorrow. She was the faintest scent of a cactus flower, the flitting shadow of an elf owl. We did not know what to make of her. In our minds we tried to pin her to a corkboard like a butterfly, but the pin merely went through and away she flew."

a case of the mondays

today, i, too, need a nap in the sun.

a mt.hood moment

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown,
for going out, I found, was really going in.

i fall more in love with this mountain with each passing day.
she has so much wisdom; so much to teach, if you are still.
she is so much more than a mountain. she is eternal wonder.
she is therapeutic, adventurous, intimidating, majestic, challenging, humbling.
today, she is the cure.
